Surat Gas Project
Delivering essential energy, creating jobs, supporting communities.
Home > What we do > Surat Gas Project
At Arrow Energy, we’re developing one of Australia’s most significant natural gas projects. Once fully operational, our Surat Gas Project in Queensland’s Surat Basin will deliver up to 700 terajoules of natural gas per day — enough energy to power the equivalent of four million homes.
This long‑term, multi‑phase project is supporting lifestyles, strengthening regional prosperity, and contributing to the shift to cleaner energy. As we produce essential energy, we’re also creating jobs and delivering economic and social benefits across the Surat Basin.
Arrow holds licences to produce and explore from Wandoan to an area south‑west of Toowoomba, with development phases underway near Miles, the Dalby region, and south of Chinchilla. Our strong progress to date has been made possible through the support of the farming families we work with and the communities that host our project.
Gas from the Surat Gas Project supplies customers under Arrow’s various contracts, including the Braemar 2 power station near Dalby, which contributes to the National Energy Market.
