As part of its long-term partnership, Arrow is bringing current and former Broncos players to the region for a series of school visits to promote positive habits and education.
Broncos Ambassadors Sam Thaiday, Andrew McCullough and Jharal Yow Yeh will be joined by NRLW star Shenae Ciesiolka, along with emerging talents Cameron Bukowski and Israel Leota.
Arrow Energy Community Officer Jayne Weier said the visits offered local students a unique opportunity to meet some of Australia’s top athletes and learn from their experiences.
“Our commitment to creating healthier, stronger communities in the areas where we operate aligns perfectly with these visits, which encourage healthy habits and a strong focus on education,” Jayne said.
“The students’ excitement when they meet the players is incredible, and the chance to hear advice from athletes they admire is invaluable.”
Broncos ambassador and Dalby local Andrew McCullough said he’s looking forward to connecting with students in his hometown.
“It’s always special to return to Dalby and share some of what I’ve learnt over 16 years in the NRL,” Andrew said.
“Connecting with the students, sharing our love of the game and reinforcing positive life habits makes these visits so meaningful.
“We’re grateful to Arrow Energy for their support in bringing these experiences to students who might otherwise miss out.”
Dalby State School Principal Mona Anua said her students were eagerly anticipating the Broncos’ return.
“Every time the Broncos come to our school, it’s a highlight of the year,” Mona said.
“Seeing their heroes in person and hearing firsthand about the importance of staying in school and leading healthy lives is a truly memorable experience.
“The program encourages inclusion whereby students who participate in the program can have varied sporting abilities and interest.
“Our teachers and staff love it too – they’re often right there with the students for photos and autographs!
“A huge thank you to Arrow Energy for providing this wonderful opportunity for kids in the Surat Basin.”
