Aero-medical intervention can be the difference between life and death in rural and remote Queensland communities, where road-based help can take hours to arrive.
Arrow, Origin, QGC and Santos have funded the Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service (SGAS) since 2011.
The service is provided by LifeFlight. Through our partnership, the SGAS integrated aviation and medical team is permanently on call to provide 24-hour emergency care, seven days a week.

The project
Because of the SGAS partnership, LifeFlight has two medically-configured Agusta Westland 139 helicopters and dedicated crews at Roma and Toowoomba. They service a 270,000km2 area that’s home to nearly 210,000 people.
The fast AW139 features a state-of-the-art cockpit and avionics, and large working space for the medical crew.
Emergencies range from serious motor vehicle and farming accidents, snake bites and urgent hospital transfers.
